Update 02.11.2021: the app let you turn off the TAPO logo watermark from your cameras. Now you shall see just the camera view or time stamp and your own text (also with turn off option). Thank you. For family moments that is useful to save the funny family moments recordings.02.11.2021: For many months still there is written new smart home features coming but nothing has happened. It seems that is coming in 2025. It would be nice just with one app button to setup all cameras on away from home mode or I am home mode so privacy mode for all indoor cameras. But this is still not possible. You have to go inside the deep setup menu on each camera everytime. You get used.2021: still doing research on other brands, this one is the cheapest and it is true it does the job well. The camera resolution is kind of bad but it is still OK for the cheapest models. Now there is upgrades to 3-4 MP and still with just 10-20€ increase.I am looking to increase my camera number from 4 now to maybe more. Thus a newer model looks interesting although I know that the same issues will be there. I also see how slowly they get fixed and improved. And best also for me, SD card for local storage and optional cloud service. For me a cloud service is a NO GO. Anyone paying cheap monthly fee for a cloud service should consider that his recordings may be stored abroad (Asia-China) and therefore abroad the privacy laws are not the same than in EU.Fazit, if I had to install a camera system on a friends house or even brother, I would no doubt on going with TAPO cameras for a budget and effective solution. Worldwide camera streaming, local video storage, possibility of deception and notification, microphone and speaker (bit useless). But everything within 30€ budget. Not bad at all. And it seems tapo listens customers and for example let us now deactivate the watermark!Outdated 2020://Since the last Firmare-update you get a watermark (TAPO) on all your videos even when saving them on your device. No option to deactivate it or to skip update.Movement sensor bad. Only 3 sensibility setup (high medium low) but quite useless. Even in low a change on light or even dust or leaves activate the alarm. Useless as a cctv security because you get paranoid with alarms for every breeze (at low sensibility).Night vision good up to 3m, beyond you do not see much or even detect any person. Moreover the infrared sensor will illuminate the closest object very bright so you cannot see the rest. For example, you have a wall or ceiling showing a bit then the night vision will brighten this part a lot so you see the rest of the room or outside very very dark, sometimes almost even useless. But for a budget camera, is fine and also because this should be similar for ALL camera brands with IR.The app does not have shortcuts so you have to change the setup all times by going into many menu and submenu (annoying).If you lose WIFi or power then camera is off and you get NO notifications. You may be weeks without camera and get nothing thinking that everything is fine but your house may be long time gone because of a fire.the only chance to detect intruders on action is to get asap alarm notification but the detection software is bad because a sky cloud/sunrise will activate it and you get stress for so many false alarms and notifications. This is valid for outdoors.In indoors with a stable environment, no big windows with sunlight , then you will detect any going in and out or movement everytime. ANY. The sensibility is too high and you have only 3 setups (low-mid-high).It would be NICE to have a more analog setup so you could set it from 1-100% with 1-5% tolerance? Then everyone could set a fair detection alarm depending on its own environment.The two way communication bad. You can hear good but the speaker are too weak so NO one hear anything coming from the camera. Even used as a webcam you cannot hear so the call function or talk is useless unless you are 10cm close to the camera in a silent room.All Comments valid for the model c100 and c200.I chose this brand because was slightly cheaper but I wonder if then I got also cheaper features.Cheap for basic cctv security and on top I got without choice the watermark.I like that you can store the position of the camera (c200) so you can move it to many saved directions fast. I like the recording based on movement or continuous recording on loop. I like the playback app feature with the calendar and different speeds (slowmo and up to x16 fast). I like app graphic design (but not menu user functionality).Actually it is a good product and software but focused for hobby or pet monitoring. As a cctv security camera or alarm system or movement detection this is not the best solution unless they improve the user setup choices so you can get the right configuration for your location (avoiding fase alarms for movement like sunrise, leaf falling, neighbor turn on balcony light, car crossing in a far window, shadow from cloudy days, spiderweb, rain, etc).
Ich nutze die Tapo C100 seit einigen Tagen zur Überwachung eines Innenraums und bin sehr zufrieden. 9 Meter zuverlässig. Die Bildqualität ist bei Tag und Nacht sehr klar, die Nachtsicht funktioniert bis ca. Besonders praktisch ist das 2-Wege-Audio – so kann man auch unterwegs mit Personen im Raum kommunizieren. Die Einrichtung über die App war einfach und intuitiv, und mit Alexa klappt die Steuerung problemlos. Auch der lokale Speicher per SD-Karte ist ein Pluspunkt. Für den günstigen Preis eine super Kamera – klare 5 Sterne!
Für rund 20€ kann man hier wirklich nicht viel falsch machen. Die Möglichkeit ohne Ethernet-Kabel zu streamen, war genau das richtige, um unnötige Kabel zu vermeiden. Die erstmalige Einrichtung war unproblematisch und ging schnell vonstatten. Einzig das Streamen im Netzwerk war anfangs problematisch, aber hätte ich mir die App genauer angeguckt, wäre auch das kein Problem gewesen.Hier eine Anleitung für das Empfangen des Live-Streams im Netzwerk mit VLC:1. Die Kamera muss im selben Netzwerk sein wie das Empfangsgerät (hier kann aber z.B. ein VPN-Client weiterhelfen, wenn man auch von "außer Haus" auf den Stream zugreifen möchte)2. In der Tapo-App die Kamera auswählen3. In die Kamera-Einstellungen gehen (Zahnrad)4. Auf den Kamera-Namen drücken (ganz oben)5. Die jetzt angezeigte IP-Adresse der Kamera notieren6. Ein Menü wieder zurück (also in die Kamera-Einstellungen)7. Runterscrollen und auf "Erweiterte Einstellungen" drücken8. In den Erweiterten Einstellungen auf "Kamera Account"9. Hier muss ein neuer Account erstellt werden (Benutzername und Passwort)–> Damit sind die Einstellungen in der Tapo-App abgeschlossen. Jetzt geht es zum VLC-Player1. VLC öffnen2. Media3. Netzwerkstream öffnen4. rtsp://Benutzername:Passwort@KameraIP/stream1 (stream1 für gute Qualität, stream2 für etwas schlechtere Bildqualität)–> Bei Schritt 4 die in der App für den Kamera-Account erstellten Daten (Benutzername und Passwort) eingeben. Das sind nicht die "generellen" Tapo-Login-Daten, sondern extra für die Kamera neu erstellte Daten. Wichtig sind der Doppelpunkt zwischen Benutzername und Passwort und das @-Zeichen.5. Auf "Play"/"Abspielen" drücken und ihr solltet den Live-Stream der Kamera sehenIch benutze die Kamera zum Überwachen meines 3D-Druckers und ziehe nach jedem vollendeten Druck den Stromstecker. Selbst nach häufigem Neustarten, funktioniert alles immer noch tadellos. Den Fuß habe ich selber gestaltet, weil mir der originale Standfuß etwas zu niedrig war =)Das Cloud-Angebot und das Speichern der Aufnahme auf einer SD-Karte brauche ich nicht, man kann das mit der Cloud einfach ignorieren. Natürlich gibt es Kameras mit perfektem Bild, noch besserer Nachtsicht usw., aber für den Preis ein wirklich gelungenes Produkt. Klare Kaufempfehlung!
